FastTrack CityHack Singapore 2022 ended on a high note with three teams presenting fresh ideas that tackled issues such as decarbonization, black swan events and healthcare emerging as winners. They were assessed and identified from 13 teams who huddled over one weekend to develop new ideas that looked at Singapore’s future resiliency, livability and sustainability. Close to 80 individuals, chosen from over 200 applicants, were selected to take part in this year’s competition. Teams were formed at the start of the weekend-long competition and were given guidance and support during the ideation process by over 40 experienced mentors and speakers who came from the relevant fields.

Central to FastTrack CityHack is the leveraging of technology and digital assets to drive innovation. The winning teams not only receive cash prizes, they also gain access to AECOM and leading expert advisors who will provide them with the professional support and guidance to help fast track their solutions to market.

FastTrack CityHack Singapore 2022 is supported by several partners, including Design Singapore Council, Institution of Civil Engineers, Urban Land Institute Singapore and AWS, as well as leading IT corporations, industry and business associations, universities, and learned societies. The competition saw over 40 experts and top voices from a spectrum of disciplines take on roles as judges, facilitators, speakers as well as mentors to the teams.

This year’s lineup of esteemed judges were Khee Poh Lam, Provost’s Chair Professor of Architecture and the Built Environment, College of Design and Engineering, National University of Singapore; Kelvin Wong, Chief Executive Officer, Building Construction Authority; Chong Mien Ling, Chief Sustainability Officer and Director of the Policy & Planning Department, Public Utilities Board; Scott Dunn, Chief Strategy Officer, Asia, AECOM; Thong Wai Lin, Deputy Chief Executive, Singapore Land Authority; Elsie Tan, Country Manager, Worldwide Public Sector Singapore Amazon Web Services; and Wanshi Zheng, Group Chief Strategy & Planning Officer, Frasers Property Limited.

As part of this year’s event, we donated SG$12,000 to Garden City Fund’s Plant-A-Tree program in Singapore. The money was raised from the total participation registration fees, contributions from mentors and our matching contribution.

FastTrack CityHack Singapore 2022 took place from 25-27 November 2022 and was open to anyone with the desire to innovate, from engineers, architects, entrepreneurs, students, designers, planners, business professionals and programmers.
